# Connecting Bank Accounts to QuickBooks Online

## How to connect an existing bank or credit card account to QuickBooks Online

Learn how to connect your bank accounts to QuickBooks Online (QBO) by linking them through the Bank Transactions menu.

- First, go to **Transactions**, then to **Bank Transactions.**
- Then, click **Link Account**, search for your bank, and follow the on-screen instructions to log in.
- Once you enter your login credentials, QuickBooks will ask which account you want to connect to and how far back you want to go. 
    - If you know the exact date you started using the account, you can enter it here. If not, start from January 1 of the current year (note: QuickBooks Online typically allows importing up to 90 days of historical transactions, so availability may vary).

 Once connected, QuickBooks Online will begin importing your transactions automatically — this may take a few minutes to complete.
