How to Add Your Accountant to Gusto (Step-by-Step Guide)
A quick walkthrough for Primary Administrators to grant admin access for payroll and compliance support.
Adding your accountant as an admin in Gusto gives us the access we need to keep your payroll, benefits, and compliance running smoothly — without you having to log in and hand-hold every step. Here's exactly how to add C2 Accounting & Business Support (C2A) as an accountant admin on your Gusto account.
Heads up: only the Primary Administrator on your Gusto account can add, remove, or edit admin permissions. If that's not you, this task will need to go to whoever holds that role.
Steps to Add an Accountant Admin in Gusto
- Sign into Gusto as the Primary Administrator.
- Head to the Settings section.
- Click the Permissions tab.
- Click Add or edit admins in the "Gusto Admins" card.
- Click Add new admin.
- On the next screen, select the following:
- Employment status: Not an employee
- "Who are they?": select Accountant
- "What will they help you with?": select the option that best fits your needs
- First and Last name: enter your C2A account manager's name
- Email: carleen@c2-acctg.com
- Role access: select Full Access
- Click Add Admin at the bottom of the screen.
That's it! C2A will receive an email invitation to complete setup on our end.
